ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES NEWPORT STREET AND VAUXHALL WALK
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, to enable traffic calming works to be carried out the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth, intend to make an order the effect of which would be at certain times to ban vehicles from entering that length of :-
(a) Newport Street which lies between Black Prince Road and a point 40 metres north-
east of Black Prince Road (an alternative route for vehicles would be available via
Black Prince Road, Lambeth High Street and Whitgift Street);
(b) Vauxhall Walk:
(i) between Black Prince Road and the north-eastern kerb-line of Jonathan
Street; and at certain other times
(ii) between the south-western kerb-line of Jonathan Street and Glasshouse Walk,
an alternative route for vehicles would be available via Black Prince Road, Tyers
Street, Jonathan Street and Vauxhall Walk.
2. Whenever the bans referred to in paragraph 1(b) (i) or (ii) above applies, (a) the one-way working in Vauxhall Walk would be suspended; and (b) the one-way working in Tyers Street between Black Prince Road and Jonathan Street would be suspended.
3. The bans and suspensions would only apply at such times and to such extent as shall be indicated by the placing of the appropriate traffic signs.
4. The order would come into force on 2nd November 2010 and would continue for a maximum duration of 2 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the earlier.
