Residents' opposition halts All Nations expansion plans

In the rush before Christmas we missed some good news from Lambeth's Planning Department - they have refused the All Nations Church's application to dramatically increase the size of their centre on Tyers Terrace.

The ANC have caused problems with noise and parking for local residents over many years. Many residents of Tyers Terrace objected to the application, supported by your local councillors.

We're pleased that Planning officers agreed that the ANC need to resolve the noise disturbance, parking problems and antisocial behaviour they cause before any expansion can be considered.

Vauxhall Gardens coffee morning

Around 30 residents of the Vauxhall Gardens Estate attended Saturday's community coffee morning, held at the All Nations Centres on Tyers Terrace.
Issues raised with Cllr Lorna Campbell, Cllr Steve Morgan, and Kate Hoey MP included problems with council housing, dangerous dogs, and the state of Vauxhall Spring Gardens.
Two Community Support Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhoods Team also attended to speak to residents about their concerns about crime.

Newsletter delivered about proposed 'community hub'

Residents around the old Lilian Baylis School in Lollard Street should be receiving a newsletter this week about future plans for the site.

Lambeth Council, Kate Hoey MP, and Labour's Action Team are supporting plans by the Sports Action Zone, All Nations Church, and Ethelred Nursery, to create a community hub on the site.

You can read the newsletter here.

Vauxhall community fair

Saturday 12 July saw the All Nations Church at Vauxhall stage their annual summer fair, in the playground of Vauxhall Primary School.

Vauxhall Labour party held a stall, and spoke to many residents about their concerns and priorities for the area.

Despite the windy weather, the fair was a great success, and the All Nations Church can be congratulated for putting on an excellent event.

The next community event that Labour in SE11 are planning to attend will be the Ethelred community fun day, on Lambeth Walk Doorstep Green, on Saturday 30 July, between 1pm and 5pm. See you there!
